This dish offers a delightful mix of textures and flavours. The crispy fried corn tortillas provides a satisfying crunch that contrasts with the tender, savoury filling inside. The cilantro adds a fresh, slightly citrusy brightness, enhancing the richness of the mince meat and bringing a touch of herbal aroma.
The filling could range from chicken, pork to vegetables or beans, each adding its own unique flavour profile. The dish is often accompanied by toppings like chopped onions, sour cream and a spicy salsa, giving it a balanced combination of rich, tangy and fresh flavours.
Tacos dorados originate from Mexico City and are a common street food.
