Jalapeños are plump and stubby chillies, like fat fingers. They have shiny skins and a piquant, grassy flavour. They are best known and commonly used chilli in Mexican food. While you often find them pickled in jars and cans in a plain brine, this product consists of whole jalapeño peppers pickled in vinegar and olive oil (escabeche) with onions, carrots and a variety of herbs and spices. The extra brining ingredients give a juicier and more flavourful product.
Great to use for chilli poppers- where chillies are basted in a batter and then deep fried. Jalapeños are widely used in salsas, salads, dips and stews.
Refrigerate after opening in a sealed container and use within 4 weeks.
