Epazote is a widely used indigenous ingredient in Mexican cuisine. This annual herb, has no substitute for its unusual and distinctive sharp, pungent flavour. Which is almost a prerequisite in a pot of black beans. It can also be used to season quesadillas, soups, moles, tamales and green salsas.
Epazote also has medicinal uses; helping indigestion and flatulence. It is also high in fiber and anti-oxidants.
Keep properly sealed inside a closed container in a dry, cool place.
