Squash Blossoms/Zucchini Flowers are delicious! They have a delicate squash flavour – similar to that of butternut – with a slight tanginess. Used in many Mexican and Mediterranean dishes, such as soups, quesadillas and even on pizzas, they are a real treat. Being the canned variety, this quality product is available year-round for your enjoyment.
So as not to over-power the delicate flavour of the zucchini blossoms, it is suggested that you use it in simple recipes – eg. fried with a little garlic and onion and served in a quesadilla or taco. They are also tasty with corn and green chillies such as poblanos.
Refrigerate after opening in a sealed container and use within 4 weeks.
