Flan is a typical Mexican dessert similar to Crème Caramel with a hard caramel crust on top.
This recipe incorporates Cajeta (Dulce de Leche) for a delicious and rich flavour.
2 cans evaporated milk
1.5 cups Cajeta – Caramel Sauce
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups sugar
- Melt sugar in a pot over low heat. Once melted, pour in a 16 in cake tin.
- Add eggs, evaporated milk, Cajeta and vanilla to blender and mix perfectly.
- Add mix to cake tin.
- Cover with foil and place in a double boiling pot. Bring to a boil, lower heat and bake for 1 hour and 20 mins.
- Wait until it cools down before demolding.
